SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) — A 26-year-old San Francisco woman suffered fatal injuries during a skiing accident at Palisades Tahoe resort over the weekend.
The Placer County Sheriff’s Office identified the skier as Ellery “Ellie” Dolan Curtis. According to her LinkedIn page, Curtis was an Alpine ski team captain at Dartmouth College.
Curtis died after she took the KT-22 chairlift to access skiing terrain on Sunday afternoon, a Palisades Tahoe resort spokesperson told FOX40.
The incident happened on a challenging trail known as “Ahhh Chute,” Powder magazine reported. Members of the ski patrol were unable to revive her.

In San Francisco, Curtis worked for the California Public Utilities Commission.
“Ellie was a valued member of the CPUC, and she will be deeply missed. She came to the CPUC to protect the environment she cared about so deeply and was very excited about starting her career here. Our hearts go out to her family, friends, colleagues, and all who were touched by her kindness,” a spokesperson for the commission told KRON4.
Curtis graduated from Dartmouth College with a degree in government and environmental studies before she moved to San Francisco in 2022, according to her LinkedIn page.
