Michigan State Police find missing 2-year-old in ditch near I-94


LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) — A Michigan State Police trooper helped find a missing 2-year-old in a ditch near I-94 in Jackson County on Saturday.

The Michigan State Police say in a X post that a trooper from the first district post was sent to assist the Blackman Township Police Department, who were searching for a missing 2-year-old in Jackson County.

Police say the child had been missing for over an hour and was wearing only a diaper.

The MSP trooper located a heat signature in a ditch near I-94 and Airport Rd. after searching for 15 minutes. In a video shared on X, it appears the trooper was searching from a helicopter.

The trooper coordinated with officers on the ground, and the team was able to find the missing child.

Police say the child was not injured but was taken to an ambulance and transported to Henry Ford Hospital by Jackson Community Ambulance.
