Earlier today, MPD officers learned about shots fired near the park “in a wooded area south of Museum Drive (closer to the N. Carmel Drive area), but not at the park itself,” an MPD news release said.
No damage or injuries were reported, according to an MPD spokesperson.
“Those at the park are safe to be there, contrary to social media posts asking people to evacuate the area,” the release said.
According to an MPD spokesperson, extra officers are currently patrolling the area and will continue to do so this afternoon.
